Deliveries and Returns
At Bob's we make every effort to ship all packages quickly, accurately, and safely. All merchandise is in good condition when it leaves Bob's. But please, when you receive a package, open it and inspect the contents immediately to be sure your order is correct and that it arrived in good condition.
If You Receive DAMAGED GOODS:
Be sure to save all packing materials. If a part is lost (box broken open) or damaged in transit, you should immediately notify us. Do not return the part until you have contacted us FIRST, as this would make it impossible to collect on a claim from the carrier. All merchandise is shipped insured for full value* and the responsibility for proper delivery is upon the carrier. We will work with you and the carrier to make sure that any problem is resolved as quickly as possible. Call us at 301-497-8949.
*If US Mail orders are shipped uninsured, either at your request or because insurance is unavailable, you must bear all responsibility for loss or damage.
If You Need to MAKE a RETURN:
IMPORTANT: ALL shipping costs — both ways — that means the cost of shipping the outbound original order to you, as well as any costs related to returns or exchanges, are YOUR responsibility — EXCEPT in the case of defective or damaged merchandise, or when incurred because of an error on our part — OR when clearly specified otherwise, such as a special Free Shipping offer or promotion. And in those cases, it is only the outbound shipping that is free, not returns or exchanges if needed.
You must first contact our parts department by phone at 301-497-8949, ext. 504 for a Return Authorization number. Returned merchandise that comes to us without a Return Authorization number may be refused and returned to you at your expense, or it may simply sit here for a VERY LONG TIME before any action is taken on it. Returns sent to us COD will NOT be accepted under any circumstances.
Returns MUST be accompanied by a copy of the invoice and must be returned in original packaging. (By this we mean the manufacturer's original packaging, if applicable, not the shipping carton it came in.) With a marker, write the Return Authorization number on the outside of the box where it is clearly visible. Then by US Parcel Post, UPS, FedEx or whichever method is most affordable and/or convenient for you, send it to: Bob's BMW / 10720 Guilford Road / Jessup, MD 20794
Remember to INSURE the package for its full value!
RESTOCKING FEES are not normally charged UNLESS an item you are returning was a Special Order for you and not a product we normally keep in stock, OR if the return is being made made AFTER 30 DAYS. In those cases we may charge a restocking fee of up to 15% or $5.00, whichever is greater. The following items are NOT returnable - except when damaged or defective, in which case they will be replaced: electrical items, bearings, books & CD-ROMs, BMW special tools, special ordered or custom made items, parts & accessories that have been installed or show signs of use or wear, helmets, or any apparel worn next to the skin.
