Instructions for using the Parts Microfiche

When you click on the "Parts Microfiche" link below, a new window will open allowing you to view an online microfiche provided by an independent source. Navigation is fairly self-evident, but here is a summary of the steps:

1. Choose the Series (basic model range) for your motorcycle. Don't be confused by the Euro-only models on the list.
2. Select your model.
3. Select USA for your region, even if you live in Canada.
4. Select your production month/year. (NOTE: production year is not necessarily the same as model year.)
5. Below the selections you have just made, click the bar that says "Browse Parts."
6. A list of Main Groups will appear. Select the one you wish to view.
7. A subgroup box will open which may offer further choices. Select the appropriate one.
8. Small “Microfiche” diagrams will appear. Click on the desired diagram to enlarge it.
9. A list of all the parts shown in each diagram appears with their respective part numbers and other information.

There is no direct “click-through” from these parts to Bob's online store—remember the microfiche is not part of Bob's BMW, it is on a remote site. So, keep both windows open and enter each part number from the microfiche into the search box in Bob's "Riders' Store," either by the copy & paste method or by simply typing it in directly. At this time we're working constantly to expand our selection, but not all BMW parts are available yet on the Rider's Store. If the part you want shows “no results found,” email us and we'll add it to the web store for you. Of course, you may also use the parts you find on the microfiche to facilitate a phone or fax order to Bob's as well.

Because they are intended for use by trained BMW dealership professionals, the microfiche may contain information that you do not understand, or that may seem ambiguous or misleading. Therefore, when you order parts based on your own search and interpretation of the microfiche, you must bear the responsibility for the consequences of ordering wrong parts, including, but not limited to, return shipping costs and the potential for restocking fees up to 15%. Important: some parts may not be returned at all, such as electrical items, painted bodywork, or some parts for obsolete models which are no longer stocked in the US and must be specially shipped in from Germany.
